My friend who cut it just used a scrap he has had for years and he doesn't know what it is. So, even suspecting it of being Delrin, I tried to paint it anyway, with Krylon Fusion and also with Rustoleum plastic primer. WebSep 12, 2009 · If you skip a thread in the brass bit, you don't damage the potentially more expensive part and if it does turn thru, then it will hold the insert tight around the twist key and aid it's insertion into the delrin part. A bit of light aluminum tapping oil in the brass bit can also help. WebOct 6, 2024 · Hi everyone, I'm looking for some info on a universal bolt spec chart. preferable 0-80 to 1/4-20. Been snooping around online but haven't been able to find what i'm looking for. Normally i just use the Futek bolt calculator, but my partnering mech eng said it is flawed. We use 0-80 to 1/4-20 sstl allen bolts into alluminum, and Delrin threads.

You may be able to use an acetone based paint to "burn" the paint into the delrin. I'd practice on some scrap parts to see how well it adheres.
